Natural, Local, Maple-Cured Ham for Christmas

Ready or not, Christmas is coming and The Healthy Hub is here to help make it a good one, for you and your family. We are now taking orders for gluten free, double smoked, naturally maple-cured, nitrate free hams. They are fresh not frozen and available with or without the bone. Size will vary.

Our Christmas hams are proudly supplied by the friendly folks at Backfatters, a small producer of award winning, rare breed pork. Based at Braemeadows, just outside of Ingham, Backfatters raise two different types of heritage pigs, Large Blacks and Berkshire, which have been selected for their fabulous flavor.

Large Blacks are the rarest pigs in Australia and currently on the critical list for endangered breeds. They are renowned for their succulent meat, amongst other things. Berkshire is the pork equivalent of Wagyu beef. It is praised for its juiciness, flavor and tenderness.

All Backfatters pigs are pasture raised and true free range. Their pork is free of hormones, antibiotics, fish and meat meal.

Last orders will be taken on Saturday 6 December, but advance orders are much appreciated and will help the supplier plan ahead and cater to demand.
